Please introduce yourself and your brand…
Hi I’m Linda from Wild Rose Designs and I design and make bags, accessories and jewellery. I love beautiful things especially vintage and my designs are often influenced by the chic and glamorous styles of yesteryear.
Tell us a bit about your creations and how you make them….
Most of my designs for bags start life as a doodle which I then refine until I’m happy with it, I then draw and cut out my pattern pieces ( I’ve been sewing for most of my life and my experience helps me to know what shape and size to make the pattern). My jewellery pieces are mostly ‘One of a Kind’ and I usually only have a vague idea of the finished piece when I start – they tend to evolve as I make them!
How long have you been making your creations?
I started Wild Rose Designs back in October of 2010 selling just evening bags. I soon added everyday handbags with accessories following quite quickly. Jewellery making was something I’d wanted to try for a long time and I started to add pieces to my shop last year.
Do you have a best seller or most popular item?
It does change. One year it was my make-up bags but this year has been an even split between occasion bags, everyday bags and jewellery.
What do you enjoy most about your craft/ work?
I love the fact that I get to choose what I do, what fabric to use, what trims and beads. I just love the whole creative process!
Will you be selling some festive themed creations at The Fairy Tale Fair?
Absolutely! I’ll be bringing some Christmas stockings, tree decorations and some festive fabric bottle bags.
What are your plans or ambitions for the future, or have you already achieved them?
I have quite a big range of different bag designs and I’d like to pare this down to a few key pieces with each bag available in a range of different fabrics. I’d also like to expand the Wedding and Home-wares sections of my shop.
Describe what Christmas means to you in 5 words or less!:
Family, friends, food, fun and frivolity!
