Today we welcome a Fairy Tale Fair newbie who we look forward to having this Sunday 5th December at Worthing Charmandean, find out more about her jewellery ahead of the day…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hi everyone, my name is Paula and I began creating polymer clay jewellery at the end of July 2020. Initially I started for the love of arts and I thought it would be a good option for me as I absolutely love it. I was giving away some pairs of earrings to friends and family (and myself! Lots!) and trying to learn more about it. Then a couple of months ago I thought I was confident enough to open an Etsy shop (I’ve got so many earrings) and start selling some of my creations to share my happiness and make people smile and feel good just like I do! Who doesn’t need a nice pair of fun colourful earrings that were made so lovingly?! So, that’s where Paula Jewellery Design began its story, one page turn a day and, let’s see where it takes me!
How would you describe your style and your creations?
Love and Colour.
I absolutely love earrings and love is attached to everything I do and I consider myself to be a very loving colourful person. I suppose that reflects on my creations. You’ll see love hearts all over and that’s me. I also love little gonks, gnomes, so in a lot of my work and, decorations, every here and there, gnomes will pop up, no matter what season of the year.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Creating! So many ideas and little time to try them all! When I’m creating, in any step of the way, I am totally concentrated and committed to do my best, as I switch off to the world and am in my creative bubble. When I am done, I feel so pleased and happy with the work I’ve created, no matter what anyone may say about them! One word: Happy!
What can we expect to find on your stall at So This is Christmas on Sunday 5th December at Worthing Charmandean? And are you looking forward to taking part?
I am sooo excited to take part in this amazing event! Firstly, I am really happy and grateful that I am contributing to help a little for St Barnabas House. I know what it is like to need some support when things go wrong with loved ones, so I think it is the least we can do, to give to others that need a bit of support.
This is my first fair trading, but I am really honoured that this particular fair is about donating and I didn’t find that in any of my research for Christmas markets in my area. So, yes, I am very proud to be part of this amazing event!
Secondly, when you come to my stall you will find a big smile on my face! And you will find love, colour, gonks/gnomes and many many pairs of polymer clay earrings. So, I’m hoping you like them as much as I do.
Do you have a best seller?
I haven’t been trading for very long yet but studs seem to be a favourite.
Being on Etsy for just under two months, I haven’t made many sales through the platform yet to be able to give an answer to this.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
Well, I didn’t really start doing this for the money it could generate, it helps me with some anxiety issues I have and I love creating. But, I will say that I hope to keep on creating and selling some items, enough to keep me going and of course it would be nice to make a little extra money to pay for materials.
I’d like to keep doing fairs and markets if I can because you meet so many amazing people, not only stall holders, but visitors alike. It’s a social event after all.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
COLOUR YOUR LIFE WITH LOVE
Everything in life revolves around love, which in turn brings you happiness!
Just like I said before, if you do your very best in life and put love into everything you do, that will bring happiness into your life and, happiness means colour
