Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hi I’m Becci and my business is called Ellbie Co. I make happy colourful craft kits for adults such as DIY embroidery patches and cross stitch kits!
I’ve spent my whole life creating things (ever since I first held scissors and turned a box into a ‘train’ hehe!). This is led me to create Ellbie Co. I wanted to make it easy for other people to get stuck into crafting and try something a bit different!
How would you describe your style and your creations?
I previously spent a year living in South Korea and this influences a lot of my design style. I’m a big fan of Kawaii (Japanese cute) mixed with Korean style and I love to see the cross-over between that and traditional British craft projects. So you can expect to see lots of cute colourful creatures in my craft kit designs!
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy the freedom that comes with working for yourself and seeing other people create their own versions of my craft kits – it is really exciting to see my customers getting involved! Their photos make my heart sing!
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Fringe Festival Special on Saturday 12th May at Brighton Open Market? And are you looking forward to taking part?
I can’t wait to take part! We did the Christmas fair last year and had such a lovely time meeting everybody! You can expect to find my partner Mike and I along with our brand new cross stitch kits, cute pinata kits and mini felt gin bunting! We will also have a sneak preview of our brand new kickstarter which will be going live in July – and there will be the option to sign up to join our Make Happy Club! So lots of things – please come and say hi we are very friendly (promise!)
Do you have a best seller?
Yes – our brand new llama drama cross stitch kit! It was my first cross stitch kit and it has been much more successful than I thought it would be! So we are now planning to launch some more!
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
To expand our range of kits and try and get our kits into more independent retail stores!
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
Difficult is worth doing – don’t give up and keep trying!
