Say Hello to… Stoats & Weasels

craftNo commentsNovember 3, 2018FTFadmin

Today we catch up with Lisa of Stoats & Weasels who we welcome back to Brighton Open Market on Saturday 10th November. Find out more about her and her new pieces…

Please introduce yourself and your brand….
I’m Lisa Bamford aka Stoats & Weasels (don’t ask!). I’m a graphic designer in Brighton and have been creating my own work and doing markets / Open House / Pop Up Shops as a side project for the last five years.

How would you describe your style and your creations?
I’d say my style is playful and colourful. General themes seem to be Brighton, food, animals, and observations on life. I like to create designs that raise a smile and then apply these to a range of cards, prints, tea towels and small gift items.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
As well as the creative freedom creating my own work brings, I really enjoy seeing the reactions to my work. It’s lovely to see people laughing and prodding their friend going ‘have you seen that???”.

What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Christmas Special at Brighton Open Market this November? And are you looking forward to taking part?
I’m really looking forward to taking part again, it’s always so much fun and well organised. I’ve got a new range of Christmas cards that I’m excited to show for the first time. I’ll also have my most popular cards, prints, badges and magnets on the stall. Oh and there are some new tea towel and pocket mirror designs too, yay.

Do you have a best seller?
I had a screen print that answered the question “Do bears s*** in the woods” which was very popular. I’ve now had some tea towels printed with this design, they’ll be making their debut at the Open Market so I’m hoping they go down well too and cause some tittering.

Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
I want to expand my range of designs and to look at getting my designs onto different products. I’m thinking I may take some tentative steps towards wholesaling too, eek!

Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
“You don’t stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing.”

Describe your Christmas in 3 words…
Lindt Chocolate Balls!
