In the last of our interviews ahead of our 6th December Worthing fair we speak to Amkims Soap – find out more about them…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
I started soap making as a hobby after I was widowed. Following many compliments of how skin-loving her soaps were to sensitive skin, I decided to take my hobby to the next level and started Amkims Soap (named after my twin girls). All my products are now specifically designed and handmade for sensitive skin with various ranges from everyday moisturizing soap to luxurious body butters. I am also fully assessed in accordance with UK & EU cosmetic regulations by a chartered chemist as well as being part of the Guild of Craft Soap & Toiletry Makers.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
Artisan and handmade for those with sensitive skin.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Making creations that show colour and have fragrance that are ideal for those who usually can’t use such. Customers have told me that they use to have to get prescribed products for washing until they found my products.
What can we expect to find on your stall at So This is Christmas Worthing on December 6th? And are you looking forward to taking part?
I am been working hard to bring you some amazing products at the fayre including Shea Butters, Artisan Soaps, Sugar Scrub Cubes, Gifts and all for those with sensitive skin including Eczema and Psoriasis
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
My ambition is to open a small shop as well as continuing with wholesale, online retail and stall. I love meeting the public as well as repeat customers and helping them with their product needs.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
Amkims Soap motto is: ‘Taking the Bore from Smellies’
