Hi I’m Diane and I run Lilypea & Olive.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
Through Lilypea & Olive I create things with lots of colour – accessories for hair, the home and things that make beautiful handmade gifts. My favourite thing to make is sugar skull bunting – especially my ones that feature pirates, stars and butterflies…
What do you enjoy most about your work?
That I get to use the creative side of my brain and its brilliant to see something that starts out as an idea turn into a drawing which then turns into an item you can hold or wear.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Fringe Festival Special on Saturday 12th May at Brighton Open Market? And are you looking forward to taking part?
It’s gonna be epic! I cant wait to be a part of The Fairy Tale Fair again, especially as its part of the Brighton Fringe Festival. I’ll have a lot of variety on my stall stuff for 3 year olds to 93 year olds! I’m currently working on making my magical mushrooms freestanding with a trick….
Do you have a best seller?
My pretty hydrangea blossom style hairbands.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
Well since we last spoke a few months ago I said I wanted to open an Etsy shop – and I’ve done it! Woohoo! So now I want to stock it with more items and actually sell something on it as its only been open a week and I’d love to make my first sale! So if you have a moment please check it out, spread the word and make someone’s day!
