Today we say hello to Jill Silk of Pearl Button who will be joining us for the first time at Brighton Open Market on March 29th. We look forward to welcoming her and her baby creations…
Please introduce yourself and your brand
My name is Jill and my brand is Pearl Button.
I am a self taught sewing enthusiast….Pearl Button was born through my love of fabric and sewing.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
Hmmm, my style is unique and came about when my niece was pregnant and I wanted to give her something different that was not in the shops or anyone else would give her.
I made her a pile of bibs, burp cloths and dribble bandanas, she loved them, so did her friends and their friends!
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love searching for the fabrics for each item, I generally only make one offs or bespoke orders.
I just love the moment that i sew right sides together and then turn it through to see it for the first time!
Simple pleasures!
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Brighton this Spring? And are you looking forward to taking part?
I am really looking forward to The Fairy Tale Fair in Brighton, it will be my first time here and am excited to meet up with everyone.
On my stall you will be able to see lovingly handcrafted baby bibs, burp cloths and dribble bandanas, in lots of different fabrics. All of my items are made with premium 100% cotton tops, bibs and burp cloths are backed in 100% organic bamboo terry towelling…..the dribble bandanas are backed with the softest micro-fleece which acts as a moisture barrier between clothing and delicate skin.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
To keep spreading the love of unique handcrafted items from Pearl Button!
Possibly to get the courage up to ask some lovely shops to stock them, small steps!
