Today we catch up with Caroline of Tiny Treat Boutique. She’ll be back once again with her ever popular Polymer clay jewellery, kits and workshop at both Brighton Open Market on November 15th and Patcham on November 21st. Find out all about the workshops planned below.
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hello! My name is Caroline and I run Tiny Treat Boutique. I make tiny food sculptures out of modelling clay and turn them into jewellery.
A few years ago I discovered the Fairy Tale Fair and started running workshops for children to make or decorate their own charms alongside my stall. I have been back each time there is a Patcham fair and it’s lots of fun.
I like to see children enjoying creating their own piece of jewellery so together with my family I have now set up Letterbox Kits so everyone can decorate their own charms at home too! We currently have a Cupcake kit, a Gingerbread House kit and hopefully a Pizza kit just in for Christmas.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
Delicious! I spend time perfecting my techniques to get my charms looking as realistic and colourful as possible, on a tiny scale. I’ve recently been working on macarons which I like because there are infinite colour variations and I can make my customers’ favourite combinations.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy talking to the children while they decorate they charms, they always come up with ideas I hadn’t thought of and seeing them show off their finished items is great.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Brighton this November? And are you looking forward to taking part?
This year I will be running a Christmas workshop with charms to decorate including Christmas trees, Christmas puddings and snowmen (see photo) and there will be goody bags for first twelve people to join the workshop. I will also have lots of Tiny Treats Boutique goodies and Letterbox Kits in stock for Christmas stockings!
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
I’m currently working on a new pizza charm Letterbox Kit with tiny toppings to make your favourite type. And of course I’m always trying out new Tiny Treat designs.
