Today we’re pleased to welcome two local creatives who we can’t wait to have at this Sunday’s ‘So This is Christmas’ fair at Worthing Charmandean. Find out more about their creations ahead of the day…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
How would you describe your style and your creations?
Michele Payne : I love creating characters or patterns digitally or from doodles with a lively, naive feel in bright fun colours.
Suzy Riot : I have a passion for bold linocuts featuring animals in anthropomorphic portraits and heartfelt moments.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Suzy Riot : For me, it’s the unexpected nature of print-making and the ad-lib surprises that come up in the process.
Michele Payne : Doodling and coming up with new ideas and characters is where I’m happiest.
What can we expect to find on your stall at So This is Christmas on Sunday 5th December at Worthing Charmandean? And are you looking forward to taking part?
We’re both really looking forward to taking part in the fair, where there’ll be cute, characterful linocuts and prints, tote bags, greetings cards, Christmas cards, gift wrapping and fun badges.
Do you have a best seller?
Michele Payne : My new baubly Christmas cards and llama gift wrapping are doing well at the moment.
Suzy Riot : My quirky, hand-printed greetings cards, ‘Doggy Moments’ and ‘Frida Katlo’ prints are popular choices.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
Suzy Riot : I’ve started teaching small workshops in my garden studio and I intend to run more in the New Year.
Michele Payne : I’m already starting to look forward to designing for next Christmas.
I’m also working on a series of abstract paintings to exhibit with Suzanne next year.
Please keep ’em peeled for our joint exhibition at Colonnade House, pencilled in for May 2022.
